Introduction about the recruiting department
Alcatel Submarine Networks Marine is a subsidiary of Alcatel Submarine Networks, a world leader in submarine networks. Its fleet of six cable ships is manned by qualified, experienced teams, and is strategically located around the world to serve customers where they are needed. The fleet is dedicated to installing and maintaining submarine cable networks, with best-in class equipment for high-quality and reliable services. This includes high engine power, thrusters and dynamic positioning to maintain position and work in almost any weather conditions; high-tow force and heavy-duty ploughs for cable burial and cable-lay control systems; Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) for installation and maintenance and fully redundant GPS navigation and positioning systems that provide real-time vessel positioning to an accuracy of better than ? 10 meters.

Mission

The Marine Data Support Technician/Geomatician supports the project and the offshore team by producing marine operational documents like charts and reports. She or he makes also some simple spatial analyses and manipulates different types of geographic data. This multidisciplinary position offers to the Technician to acquire rich knowledge about the submarine cable installation and repair as she or he is involved in the project from the planning phase until the end of the cable installation.The allocated tasks include, but are not limited to:
?    Assist in the follow-up and QC process of the operational documentation between ASN Marine Office and vessels
?    Assist in the creation of any cartographic support for the project team
?    Creation and delivery of the pre-installation documentation to be provided to the vessels (Charting, GIS.)
?    Assist in follow-up of the daily progress of operations and data reception; and ensure the data formatting for final report Requirements
?    Support the creation and the delivery of the as-laid documentation (As-laid Charts, Written Report.) to ASN or final customer

Skills
The pre-requisites for the Marine Data Support Technician are:
?    Good English level (work in a multicultural environment).
?    Good Knowledge of Word, Excel and Adobe
?    Experience with CAD and GIS software
?    Good communication skills (work in project mode)
?    Dynamic, independent and solution oriented
?    Experience in Marine activity or cable installation is a plus
?    Good capacity to understand technical/industrial operations
