Working with CELLMAPS

Among the array of tools that are available for geo-spatial anaylsis, cell maps have an important role to play and MapInfo is a particularly interesting plaform for this kind of cartography. But the specific constraints that are encountered in their implementation and the lack of formal support can prevent a more frequent use of this type of analysis. There are however many examples of such applications that can be found in some specialized fields, that are most often ignored or not recognized.
This "document" will deal with various subjects related to cell maps, from examples of implementation to description or specification of tools, passing by some more abstract explorations on specific subjetcs. It was conceived initially as a more theoretical counterpart to a practical research on the forseeable impacts of atmospheric pollution from surface transportation in the Montréal QC greater region. Some aspects of this project of the SMST (transportation systems modelization service) of the MTQ (Québec Transports Ministry) will be presented and discussed in various parts of this document.
The "document" presented on this site is in construction and will be so for some months; difficult for me to indicate its final contents and form. The following list of subjects will give an idea of the subjects already developped or in development.
As this kind of exploration must be based on the widest possible experience to validate procedures and recommandations that should form the core of it, any comment, critique or contribution will be most welcome.
