Working papers from

Mark Neuhaus

has changed job and does not use MI Pro anymore - July 2005

Mark, who was a cartographer with the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries, offers us here two working papers in which he describes his experiences and the solutions he designed in two areas:

1 - How to generate and use textured patterns for geological maps.

An example of the patterns he created is given as a pdf file. Note that to view the patterns as they will be on a printed map, the pdf zoom should be set at 100%

2 - How to deal with transparent raster in a postscript file

Mark is very conscious of the state of these papers that need more details and more information to be made fully useful to all. He hopes that you could contribute by your experience in pointing at the improvements you judge necessary.
