This program produces MIF/MID files that can be read by MapInfo v.3+. The graphic objects are "geographic" rectangles (30 arc-seconds in latitude, 30 in longitude between S49 and N49, increasing in four steps to 180 between 80 and 81 both S and N); the data is one of the four available variables: average, minimum, maximum or discrete altitude according to the user's choice.

As an option, horizontally adjacent rectangles having the same value can be fused in a continuous strip. A colour is assigned to each object according to a double (one for altimetry, one for bathymetry) recurring (interval width of 200 meters) 5-level scheme.

The original files are those on the CD's GLOBE collection release 0.5. The program is compatible with release 0.1 but for the discrete elevation value files that did not exist in 0.1.
