*** Requires MI 5.5 to take full advantage of some editing functions --- works with <5.5 otherwise ***

Converts regions found in a given table (open or not) or in a selection of an open table to unique line or single-section-polyline border-segments. Names of bordering regions (or, as an option, of the regions located to the right and left of the line given its direction) are stored for each border-segment. The outside is recognized and labelled XXX. Duplicated nodes are eliminated. The end nodes of every segment are generated and stored.

Full editing functions (in option) will store duplicated nodes, detect and store plines with a "loop" condition (eights, bowties, spikes), detect and display segments on the outside (some may be the effects of asymmetrical nodes in adjacent regions, i.e. accidental holes), detect and store questionable plines (resulting generally from local overlapping of a region on its neighbor).

This application can be used in particular for identifying the needs of editing a map; corrections can be done more effectively and with less risks on unique border-segments than on regions. Edited segments can be regrouped if they are in different tables, then transformed into regions. See the Plines to Regions (PLIN2REG.mbx) application as possible tool.
