How to contribute.

For functions and subs

All contributions are accepted on the basis of their pertinence and the quality of their code. There are no pre-determined limitations to potential subjects. Standards of excellence will be maintained by the judgement of a small group of committed peers who will have the ultimate say in accepting contributions.

Contributions are sent as .INF files that must respect the format and the rules set in the models that are provided as part of the MBR Kit (There are different models for Functions&Subs, Scripts, Dll calls...). These files can be generated with a simple text editor.

Contributions are addressed to the acting site manager (Jacques Paris, as of February 1, 2001) who will pass them to some "wise men" for review. The contributions will not be made public before author and "wise men" agree on the contents.

INF files will be transformed into html pages with the CodeReplace tool written by Bill Thoen. This tool uses for basic information a .TPL template with all the Html formatting code necessary to make the fusion with the .INF files. The INF model file contains essentially a series of keywords (always beginning with a #, like "#author") that follow very simple rules; they have their equivalents in the .TPL template.

Before that conversion, some adjustments will have to be made by the site manager such as checking the actual page name, verifying the presence and pertinence of key words, specifying the format and name of downloadable files and preparing them, making a separate page of the code if it is too long to be displayed with the instructions, verifying the links to "see also" pages...

Work will be much easier if INF files are properly filled in.
