Vous trouverez sur le site du FGDC (qui coordonne l’information geographique federale aux
Etats-Unis) un fichier Excel qui presente la correspondance entre les metadonnees decrites
dans son propre standard et celles decrites dans celui que l’ISO vient de publier (ISO 19115).
Ce standard est appele a se substituer au standard FGDC et a la norme europeenne.

July 8, 2003 FGDC Invites Public Review of proposed ISO-19115 Metadata Crosswalk
The FGDC has released a draft of the proposed FGDC to ISO19115 metadata “crosswalk” for
public review between July 8, 2003 and September 1, 2003. The purpose of this file is to
document proposed equivalency between spatial metadata content elements defined in the
FGDC Metadata Standard (FGDC-STD-001-1998) and the ISO-19115 Metadata Standard (ISO
19115:2003(E)).
This spreadsheet is intended to facilitate broad public review of the metadata content
elements, and proposed logic for crosswalking FGDC metadata content into an
ISO-compliant metadata implementation. This spreadsheet IS NOT a proposed standard, and
is distributed for the sole purpose of soliciting comments and suggestions on crosswalk logic.
FGDC will review all comments and, in concert with other standards bodies, will initiate a
public process for updating the spatial metadata standard for adoption within the United
States.
The “crosswalk” consists of a multi-page spreadsheet model that includes complete details of
each FGDC section, suggestions for review, and a template and procedures for submitting
comments and questions. All pages of the spreadsheet are also supplied in PDF format.
