Maîtrise professionnelle avec cheminement en géodéveloppement durable (Sherbrooke et Longueuil, Qc, Canada)
Objectifs de la formation
Le géodéveloppement durable traite de tous les aspects du développement durable qui concernent le territoire, son environnement,
son évolution, son aménagement et sa gestion. Dans le contexte actuel où les préoccupations sur les changements environnementaux
sont omniprésentes, s’outiller pour intervenir adéquatement dans des projets de développement durable est un atout indéniable.
Et puisque tous ces changements se manifestent par une série de modifications du paysage, c’est grâce à des connaissances en
matière de systèmes d’information géographique et de télédétection qu’il devient possible de les observer, de les mesurer, et de les modéliser.
Le cheminement en géodéveloppement durable est totalement orienté vers la pratique et assure donc une formation de pointe
jumelant l’informatique et la géographie pour mieux connaître le territoire, qui est à la fois premier indicateur des changements
environnementaux et premier élément de l’environnement à les subir.
Des ententes interuniversitaires permettent aux étudiantes et étudiants inscrits de poursuivre une session d’études à
l’Université de Montpellier en France ou à l’Université de Liège en Belgique.
