Recrutement après un bac scientifique
Cycle de durée 2 ans, effectué par les étudiants recrutés par l'IGN dans le corps des Géomètres 
(sur concours des Techniciens Supérieurs de l'Équipement du Ministère de l'Écologie ou sur concours spécifique de l'IGN),
ainsi que par des étudiants non destinés à l'IGN, sur Admission PostBac (APB) ou directement hors APB sur dossier.

  • Contenu du cours : Le géomètre, titulaire du Brevet de Technicien Supérieur d'études et de travaux géographiques, est un spécialiste de la collecte (mesure) des données sur le terrain, sur les photos aériennes ou spatiales, de leur intégration dans des bases de données, de leur mise à jour et de leur traitement informatique.

Il est capable d'en extraire des cartes, des plans, des images numériques, des fichiers de données géographiques destinés à l'aménagement du territoire, aux transports, à la protection de l'environnement, à la lutte contre les risques naturels, au tourisme etc.
