Objectifs de la formation


L'École nationale des sciences géographiques (ENSG) est un établissement d'enseignement supérieur français, géré par l'Institut géographique national (IGN), sous la tutelle du Ministère de l'Écologie, de l'Énergie, du Développement durable et de la Mer (MEEDDM). Elle a pour vocation de former les professionnels de la géomatique à tous les niveaux possibles, et en particulier les personnels techniques de l'IGN. Il y a en moyenne 250 étudiants en formation initiale à l'école tout au long de l'année (tous cycles confondus, dont un tiers d'étudiants destinés à l'IGN).

  • Concours d'entrée : L'entrée dans le cycle Ingénieur se fait principalement par concours, après une classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles. Pour les élèves fonctionnaires, ce concours est commun en particulier avec l'EIVP (ville de Paris), l'École Nationale de la Météorologie (ENM) de Météo-France, et l'École nationale des Travaux Publics de l'État (ENTPE). Pour les élèves non destinés à l'IGN, le recrutement se fait par le concours Télécom-INT. Des admissions sont aussi possibles sur dossier et entretien, y compris pour une entrée directement en deuxième année. Enfin il est possible de rentrer sur dossier après la la classe préparatoire du lycée Jean Moulin de Torcy.

Renseignements administratifs

  • Durée totale de la formation : Le cycle de formation inclut des places de fonctionnaires (destinés à l'IGN), et dure au total trois ans, sanctionné par le diplôme d'ingénieur de l'ENSG, diplôme reconnu par la Commission des titres d'ingénieur (CTI). Les élèves fonctionnaires intègrent le corps des Ingénieurs des Travaux Géographiques et Cartographiques de l'État (ITGCE) à l'IGN, et les autres diplômés sont recrutés dans tous les domaines de la géomatique. Depuis 2008, le taux de recrutement 6 mois après la sortie est de 100 %, compte tenu de l'extrême croissance de la demande en spécialistes dans ces domaines.
