- La solution ELYX s'inscrit dans le cadre de la nouvelle stratégie de l'entreprise. ELYX est la convergence des différentes solutions SIG développées par le groupe STAR-APIC. La plateforme SIG visée disposera d’un « noyau fonctionnel » unique (ELYX Kernel) pour servir un client lourd (Elyx Office) et un client léger (Elyx Web) autour de SGDB spatiaux standards (Oracle, PostGis). L'ensemble sera géré par un module d'administration unique. Comme point de départ au développement d'ELYX, il a été choisi d'utiliser les toutes dernières versions des programmes existants (Apic 5 et NeXt 7) à intégrer dans une architecture de services (SOA). Cette architecture permettra aussi l’utilisation des langages de programmation les plus modernes et standardisés.
Progressivement, ELYX va bénéficier des fonctions de tous les produits desktop de la gamme dont notamment les fonctions bureautiques “user friendly ” et DAO de la gamme WinSTAR/Star Gis. Le périmètre fonctionnel à reprendre dans les produits existants et à intégrer dans ELYX sera déterminé suite à une enquête et une étude auprès des utilisateurs des produits actuels. Par ailleurs, une configuration pour Tablet-PC sera dérivé d'ELYX Office (version simplifiée). La solution pour PDA se basera sur MobileSTAR. (Réf : STAR APIC, T. De Tombeur)
